A pirate cutlass, not too long and not too short, to protect themselves if the ship be boarded by enemy pirates or worse, the Navy!!

They would also have bombs filled with musket balls, nails or broken glass or anything else they could find that would make shrapnel Harrrr.

But this be the Cap'n favorate weapon Harrrr.

Are you ready this is the most innovative thing and only a true pirate could think it up Harrr

Do you know what it is Harrrr.

It be a stink bomb Harrrrrrr.

The pirates would take a piece of cloth and fill it with anything stinky Harrrr.

They would fill it with rotting meat, dead seagulls or other bird, rotten rat, dead mice, or anything else you could think of that stunk so bad Harrrr.

Then they would put a fuse in it and toss it on the other ship Harrrrr. It has been reported after the stink bombs would explode sometimes the sailors would jump off the ship to get away from the smell and to get it off of them Harrrrr.

Today be Wednesday Harrrr. Ye mateys know what that means. Another day of Cap'n Maverick the Pirate's School of Piracy Harrrrrr.

Today's lesson be on William Kidd or known by many as Captain Kidd Harrrr. Captain Kidd even had his own song, The Ballad of Captain Kidd, Harrr. Captain Kidd was born in Scotland in 1645 Harrrrr. He was first a Merchant and a licensed Privateer Harrrrr. That mean he be a legal pirate first.

This be a picture of his privateering license Harrrrr. This license gave Captain Kidd the right to attack any French Merchants Harrrr. A little later Captain Kidd stole a ship and named it Blessed William Harrrr. Then the crew abandoned him to turn to piracy Harrrr.

In 1695 Captain Kidd was talked in to a shady deal from Richard Earl of Bellomont Harrrr. Captain Kidd was to command a 34 gunship Harrrr. He was also given a letter of Marque to attack Pirates and French East India Company Harrrr.

Kidd insulted two Royal navy ships on his way to New York Harrrr. Kidd Refused to lower his flag and had his Crew show their back sides to the Royal Navy as they passed by Harrrrr. His ship was boarded and they took most of Kidds best Crew men Harrrrr.

Running out of luck, Kidd lands on a pirate island at Madagascar and turns to piracy Harrrr. He lost all hope of pardon Harrrr. Thar be a warrant out for his arrest Harrrr. Kidd moved all of his loot and buried some of it Harrrr.

Bellomont misled Kidd and told him he would be pardoned Harrrr. When Kidd came to his office he was quickly arrested Harrrr. After a year in prison and some quick trials Harrr, he was accused of murder and piracy Harrrr. He was hung in a cage, tarred bound with chains and irons Harrrr. He be hung out to dry for several years at Tilbury Point Harrrr on the River Thames. That was to warn any sailor that turned pirate that this could happen Harrrr. Not a very happy ending there mateys Harrr.

Harrr, look like a pirate sword to yer Cap'n. Mom go to pirate clown and tell him she have little boy at home that would love a balloon. Harr Mateys, mom not be shy. She bring home the balloon and give it to yer Cap'n Mav.

That lifted up the new pole Harrrr.

Cap'n Maverick the Pirate school of piracy is now up and running mateys every Wednesday Harrrrrrr. This school will teach ye mateys of pirate history, sailing, parts of the ship, duties of the crew, and everything else pirate Harrrrrrr.

Today yer Cap'n is going to teach ye mateys about Edward Teach Harrrrr.

Edward Teach nickname be Blackbeard Harrr.

He be one of the most feared pirates of all time Harrrrr.

He be called Blackbeard because he wove hemp in his beard and set it on fire to intimidate his enemies Harrrr.

He sailed on the Good ship Queen Anne's Revenge Harrrrr.

This be Blackbeard's Jolly Roger Harrrrr.

In May 1718 Blackbeard held up the port of Charleston SC for a week Harrrr.

Blackbeard was killed by the Royal Navy man called Lieutenant Robert Maynard in November 1718

Maynard hung Blackbeard's head on his sloop and dumped Blackbeard's body over board Harrr.

Legend has it that the headless corpse of Blackbeard swam around the sloop several times in defiance before it sank from sight

That is the story of Edward Teach Harrrrr.

Last thing yer Cap'n remember he be trying to get the attention of the Media during the New York City Ball Drop Harrrrrr.

Then Yer Cap'n woke up Harrrrr. Why does everything smell like roses Harrrr? Why do I have a bass drum Harrrrr? What is going on Harrrrr? Where am I Harrr? Why am I marching in this parade Harrrrr? Maybe I can hide on the Alaska float Harrr.

Stupid hat keeps falling off Harrrrr. Oh no here comes the drum major with that bass drum Harrrr.
