Today yer lesson be fun
instead of learning bout cannon and gun.
A poem tis said
be especially good when ye be dead.
So, without further fuss yer Cap'n be saying
pirates be poets
and thar be a site that surely show it.
Mateys these poems be bout pirates that passed
those that be shot, hung up and gassed.
It be written in stone
for all to read
for the pirate to remain in memory
be all that he need.
So Mateys yer lesson today be to make up a ditty,
yer Cap'n know ye can do it
even Huffle the kitty.

Ahoy Cap'n Mav,
Yer lesson be grand,
and a challenge indeed
to come with a poem
that tells of the need
for a pirate to have his
most glorious deed
carved in stone, so we know
of his exploits at sea.
Harrr!
