Harrrr Mateys
Today be Wednesday so it be Cap'n Mavericks School of Piracy Harrrr.
Today we talking about walking the plank Harrrrrrr. The myth started about 100 B.C. Pirates preyed on Roman shipping in the Mediterranean. The Romans captives would be told they could walk home but the only way off the ship was over the railing Harrrr.
There is only one account of a real walking the plank Harrrr. The Cap'n was George Wood. His mutinous mates forced a number of loyal crewmen "to walk the Plank" extended from the ship's side Harrr.
That is all of the plank story yer Cap'n could find Harrrr.

Harrr, Cap'n Mav! "Walking the plank" sounds like agility class to me. Maybe they were just making sure those pirates were fine physical specimens.
Thank woo for another great Pirate lesson!

I think Star and Jack are right. Next time I'm in agility class, I'll tell Mom not to say "Dogwalk!" and instead say "Walk the plank!"

I would not like to walk the plank please Capn Maverick.

Hi Cap'n Maverick, sir! I loved learning about walking the plank - it's the ultimate pirate cool thing that I hope never happens to me. It's kind of disappointing to learn there's only one real account of it, though...
Harrr...I mean see ya!

I never knew that about walking the plank. I will have to see if that is what it is called a dog school too. I love plank walking, I guess I wasn't a good pirate!

I'm very disappointed to hear that "walking the plank" isn't historically accurate. Shocked, yes shocked am I, that all those pirate movies could have such reckless disregard for the truth!
